FAQ's
What is food-grade silicone?
It’s a non-toxic, sustainable, non-porous, more flexible, and safer alternative for humans, other living creatures, and the planet. It’s reusable and doesn’t include harsh chemicals and toxins that end up in landfills and in turn, often end up in lakes and oceans. It’s made without petroleum-based chemicals like BPA, is safe to go in the dishwasher (remove the “jewel” first and place it on the top rack), or can be hand-washed, and reused over and over.

Why do you charge for shipping?
The cost of shipping in Canada and the USA is a huge expense for any business. In order to keep our price of nofliesonus.com lids affordable, we charge a flat rate of $12.00 Cdn. to any street address in Canada and $16.00 Cdn. to any street address in the USA. We're sorry, but we are not able to ship to a P.O. Box office.
Why is each lid packaged in plastic individually?
With Covid-19 and all of the risks associated with contamination and germs, we've taken extra precautions and sealed each lid individually for your safety. This ensures that the lids were not "touched" by human hands during the assembly process but rather packaged by machine. Once the pandemic has subsided, we'll reduce the amount of plastic we use overall to have less waste going into our environment and landfills.
What do you mean when you say that fruit flies etc., are pooping in our beverages?
Female fruit flies lay up to 500 eggs each, and they mature in just 8 days. When fruit flies lay eggs on rotting fruit (or in this case, your wine), they deposit feces on the egg sacs to establish the correct microbial composition in the larvae's guts. Yes, it’s true: not only are they spoiling your wine, but they’re also pooping in it which is so gross. They're unsightly (and super annoying in your home and your drinks), but they can actually also turn your delicious wine into vinegar.
